Will Sharp, Louis Felber on original music, Felix band

When? Leena dunham And Louis fail Earlier dating began, the playlists were a major part of his love language.

“When we were not together, there were moments-you know, life gets on the way for 30-year-old children-so we will make each other a playlist,” Felbar, as a musician in itself, says as the frontman of the UK band Atalpa, as a zoom. “And it became a big part of the flesh and bones of this TV show.”

The show in the question is “Too much“Joe married Dunham and Felber co-produce and debut on Netflix on Thursday. The Rome-COM series follows Jessica (” Hax “Standout Megan Stalter), a new yorker that goes to London after a devastating breakup, and Felix (” White Lotus “star Will Sharp), A struggling musician who is also struggling with previous trauma. The Soundtrack includes Atalpa’s original music, played by Sharp’s fictional band Felix and The Fillers, as well as droplets from music spectrum including fake, Fiona Apple, Nici Minaz, Jason Molina’s songs: Ohia, Meli Cyrus, Wednesday, John Calle, Frad, Bob Drees, Fried, Breeds, Fried and again. – Just to name a few. Most of the music moments of the show were already in treatment when Dunham and failber showed Netflix on the show, and many of them came from the early playlists.

Felber said with laughter, “Leena’s playlist was interesting, because it is more than the pop world. And my playlist was very America, countries – I did not keep any slipkot or anything.” “But you can see a partition … We were both teaching each other. And it is the beauty of a mix CD, or nowadays a playlist, are you to show someone to show someone how you are feeling and also where you come from.”

Although “too much” is not completely autobiographical for their romance, Dunham – who moved to London in 2021 – told Diversity This week in his digital cover story: “It is definitely not quoted-unknown Based on a true storyBut like what I do, like that, I have an element of my own life that I cannot help but inject it. The same goes to Felber. Lipstick and a matching guitar, Felix, played a moody, stripped-back version of Atavalpa’s “Allways the Girls” (from the band’s new album “experience”, with piano and violin.

To prepare a personality on the stage of Sharp’s Felix, Felber says he was inspired by Elliott Smith during his “XO” era in 1998 and Nirvana’s frontman Kurt Cobain, especially for that first performance at Ivy House. “I am very boring and basic, but I always go back to that ‘unplugged’ in New York,” they say. “We refer to that a lot, especially meat’s puppet songs (Cobains are played)-Music in Sello, just that gum of that music is very correct and so dull and so. It is Beatles, but they are dull.”

In fact, in the context of performing the songs, failber was lucky that Sharp was already a musician, was trained on the piano and was playing in the band as a teenager. But he did not perform live in more than a decade. “It was one of the funny challenges, working with Lu. I have not performed music because literally I was so, I don’t know, 22 or something. So in a long time, in a long time,” Sharap says. “I really liked his songs, but some of it was quite scary.”

Felber helped Sharp learn six songs from “experience” including “Anubhav”, “Koi Seema” and “True Love Plause”. “, Bless him, he was so from de dot, ‘I want to be able to play these songs without looking at a cord sheet, without looking at the songs. I want to feel them, I want to be in these songs,” says Felber. “So I was very happy for him to throw my personality on him, or the personality of Felix on it.”

Then, Felber had to constitute Felix bands, The Filers. He listed Prasanna Puvanaraja, who plays Felix’s housewife and best friend Auggi, as a drummer – even if he has never played before. “He is a natural drummer, we knew very little,” Felbar says. Bass and David Ashbi (the frontman of the local London band Sled, who actually introduced Felber in the EV House for the first time) has rounded out by True-Blu composers Carlos O’Conel (guitarist for Irish Rock Band Fontanes). Felber also installed a rehearsal space at 3 Mills Studios in East London, where “too much” was filmed to brush between sharp and band scenes.

“In my head, Felix gives these songs a kind of Eco and Bannmen vibe,” Felber says about the singing voice of Sharp. “He is an incredible learner, and I think all you have to do is to meet someone in place of their taste.”

Sharp says that he thought of crafting a unique nature or signature trick for the performance style of Felix – Ian Curtis, Oasis, Hives and Julian Casablonus, citing motivations like Julian Casuals – but finally he thought, “Just play the song man, just play it, play it. And then whatever you’re not thinking about it is not thinking about it.”

As his favorite needle from the soundtrack, the “butterflies” of Musgrevs at the top of the failure list, which plays during a tender moment between Jess and Felix. “When we dropped the song on the scene I liked, cried because it was very beautiful,” he believes. In addition, Late Molina’s songs: is “farewell transmission” by Ohia, which failber says that the team used filler music in editing before the score ended for the show. “It worked just because it is such an emotional song,” he says. “For me, (Molina is) like a modern Neil Young or in the middle of the 40s Kurt Cobain (as it looks like).” But there was a wishelist artist who could not get Falber.

“First of all, I put a lot of Rajkumar songs on this playlist. And he is expensive,” he says. “You know, season 2 can be full of prince.”

Although the second season of “too much” has not been greenlight yet, Failber says he “loves Jess and Felix more” but admits that “we don’t control it, the universe.” However, he and Dunham have “considering what can be seen.”

Till then, couple are working hard to work in shooting for Dunham’s upcoming film “Good Sex”, starring Natalie Portman, which she is writing and directing with failure.

It is going to have a lot of exciting original music, actually a fun score and three cover versions of a great song, but I am not going to say what it is because it’s a big part of the film, “he tease,” Leena and I, we are always to do something. We are rackens in the treasury of life. ,
