The first three episodes of the “The Amazing Race” season 37 have already been distributed on the promise of the season of shaking things with a new or returning twist in every episode. This included the “Fork in the Road” Challenge of the episode 1, where competitive teams were to select between two directions – building two separate races that end both Mark & Larry and Jack and Lauren. In another episode, the players faced a “intersection”, forcing the teams to pair together and meet various challenges.
Of course, the unexpected surprise is an identity of “The Amazing Race” from the beginning of the World-Trewing show in 2001. From major challenges like “yield” and “U-turn”, a handful of themed season, which sent the show on a different path, here is the list of some of the biggest twists in the “amazing race” history:
-
To take ‘Big Brother’ and ‘Survivor’ contestants

While the “The Amazing Race” usually casts the teammates of the team who were never painted on reality TV, Season 5 brought Ellison from “Big Brother” season 4, which became the first contestant for the cross show. Since, “Big Brother” contestants have also gone to win the show, such as Kodi and Jessica in season 30 and Derek and Claire in season 34. But to date, no “survivor” contestants have won “The Amazing Race”.

Non-transmission foot

Because a season of “The Amazing Race” often consists of more episodes than teams, the show sometimes consists of a handful of non-comprehensive legs-where no team sends home despite the final results. Contestants (and audience!) Never know which leg is a non-generated leg, adds additional suspense. This means that a fan-psandida team always gets a chance to be a moment of ‘Hale Mary’ when all hope is lost, and they can survive to compete at least one more leg. But this savings usually comes with a loss in the next leg: an additional function, or some other punishment. In particular, season 34 and 36 did not have any non-genealon legs.
-
speed bump

From season 12 to 33, the “speed bump” was an important part of non-genealon legs because at the last moment (usually by a non-generation round) required an additional challenge to save teams to save. While many teams in the “The Amazing Race” history have survived the additional challenge, for the first time a speed competition was introduced in the eighth leg of season 12, which led to the eradication of Kall and Vyxin.
-
Dual eradication

While some contestants become lucky with non-generating legs, others wonder the small end of the stick with surprise. They will cut the journey unexpectedly wonder Two The entire teams are small. The first appeared in the double elimination season 19, leading to Ethan and Jena and Ron & Bill. The first phase of season 37 was first marked when a double elimination in the US format since season 19 has been depicted.

“Yield”, which made his debut in season 5, teams get a chance to slow down the pace of rival players behind them. And its results can be: In season 9, Daniel and Dani were terminated after the yield by contestants Lake & Mitchell. After the all-star season in 2007, the produce was eventually replaced with a U-turn, but it made a stunning return in Season 32 with a delay of 10 minutes and 20 minutes in season 32, which sets back to several teams.
-
Season 8 ‘Family Edition’

While there are many entries in this list specific challenges, no list of twists has been completed without mentioning the entire concept of season 8 – some controversial “family version.” While “The Amazing Race” usually features adults of different age, season 8 featured ten families of four contestants. Children under 8 years of age were allowed to apply, and the entire race was stuck only in North America. The season is widely considered one of the lowest pipiler in the “The Amazing Race” history, and it is notable that the show never brought young families back to another attempt.
-
U-turn vote

The “U-turn” has been an important part of the show since season 12, allowing teams to cover a distance between them and a team behind them, forcing them to fulfill the second “Datour” challenge, which they originally chosen. It was applied to a turn, “U-turn vote”, first to Israel, Chinese, Australian and Filipino versions, then made its way for the US version on season 31-forced the teams to cast their vote in front of all other teams. On this special occasion, the ultimate season winner Colin and Christie managed to make it to the top 3, while both Rachel and Elisa originally ended after failing to meet both the challenges, on “Big Brother”.
-
Uninterrupted leg

Typically, teams may expect a little break between the legs. But sometimes, like season 14, teams do not get any break. Instead, those who think that there is a pit ban, the host Phil is to give the next clue to keep the teams on racing rather than the Keoghan. (This also means that the upcoming last team is usually not punished.) Recently, it appeared in the first episode of the bend season 36.
-
Start line elimination

If the teams leave for a rocky start on one leg, they usually have time to catch with other teams that depend on how fast they can complete the obstacles. But in the case of season 15, Eric and Lisa were abolished immediately after the final team to complete the initial work, never got a chance to leave the country. This probably remains the most cruel elimination in the “The Amazing Race” history.
-
Move on

The “fast forward” has long been a staple of “The Amazing Race”, which provides an additional function (if completed before someone) then allows a team to go directly to the race’s pit stop. The catch is that if many teams complete the challenge, only one can use the same fast forward, which means that the other team should return and all the previous challenges should be met. Fast forwards were originally introduced to teams in every leg, but the offer began to reduce in season 5 (no more than two in the same season). In recent years, the show has continued to move fast, as well as it does not have an option in season 30 or 36.
-
Express pass

The first introduced in season 17, “Express pass” is sometimes given to the winning team of a leg or an alternative additional work, which gives them a bonus benefit of bypassing the future challenge. (It is different from the “fast forward”, which will immediately send a team to the mat.) In season 25, Adam and Bethani got the express pass after completing an additional work during the second phase, and finished 3rd in the season.
-
hazard

In season 19, “Dangak” was implemented only once, by imposing a fine on the team which finished an early line work in the final place. In this special season, Kailani and Lisa were the team that was punished in the first episode – but in total it was ranked 9th, which was in the race for another leg despite the shock.
-
Covid-unumed season

Eighteen months after season 33 Unphetable Due to Kovid, the production managed to return and racing seven teams. The season begins by holding with the contestants, giving fans an opportunity to know more racer than normal. With a continuous test and a chartered 757 private jet, the show managed to go despite looking slightly different.
-
Scuffle

One of the most recent twists introduced in the “The Amazing Race” history was the “Scramble” in Season 34, with the teams to meet many challenges to keep the pieces together for the next clues. The catch is that the teams failing to complete the scramble get an 8-hour fine. In season 35, the scuffle was used during the conclusion of Seattle Kala-Theme challenge.
