spoiler ALERT: This story includes spiiler for episodes 1 of “Outlook Good,” Season 3, “And exactly the same way“Now streaming on HBO Max.

And in the same way, Rosie O’ -Donel made a great comeback in comedy.

At the season premiere of “And Just Like the”, O’Donnell plays the role of Mary, who exits the city out of a woman, which Miranda (Synthia Nixon) picks up at one time, hopes that never expects to see again. Mary and Miranda Mary share a night together at the hotel, but Mary Lingers caught emotions for an understandable reason: she was a virgin before meeting Miranda. At home, in Vinnipag, Mary is a nun, and sexuality has been a closed part of her life. She continues to push to join various tourist-trap activities for Miranda, and the pair finally joins the Times Square, where Mary, a “wicked” superfan, sings a little to thank the “wicked” superfan, Miranda, which she really needed.

It is a juicy role, one of the classic one-night stand of a “Sex and the City” franchise, played by a comic actor who knows the region. O’Donnell came out as a gay in 2002, as his daily talk show, “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”, was below the bottom. O’Donnell is in a contemplative mode before performing at the Edinburgh Finge Festival in the Edinburgh Finge Festival in the Edinburgh Festival. She expects to visit production, but for now, the city of Scottish is a short journey from her current home in Ireland, where she went as a reaction to Donald Trump’s second-task presidential.

O’Donnell spoke Diversity Regarding diving into the “Sex and the City” universe, what he has learned about himself while raising a non -neutral twin and how Ireland has so far suited him.

How are you?

I have questions about the names of your brothers and sisters.

Name of my brother -in -law?

Are they all “D” S, are you like?

No, I am lucky. My brothers and sisters are named Jane and Emily.

I kept thinking: Diradre D’Adario, Daniel D’Adario …

Anyway, I think it was Michael Patrick King who contacted you for the role.

It was syntia. I am a good friend with Synthia Nixon, and my daughter was really helpful on the set for the final season of “sex and” – “and that kind”. I call it “Sex and the City 2”, but it is not. He put him there, and then he said, “By the way, Michael told me that his role is for you. Are you ready for it?” I said, “Are you joking with me? In a minute!” I did not even think about it.

I probably have to leave Michael Patrick King for more than 30 years. When I was a young comedian, he was in a comedy pair called King and Mindi – Lisa Mindy and Michael King. I used to roam with him in a rising star and catching on the improvement. It is very surprising to see those who started doing so together.

Mary definitely has her quirks – how did it feel to learn it it Does the character that was written to you, once you read it?

I made my ass laugh. I thought – I know how to play this character. I was very happy, was very happy to have all my scenes with Synthia. It was not acting for me. I don’t have to work in love with her, because I love her for many years. I saw her in “Wit” on Broadway, and even though I had known her for many years and had a real friend with her, when I went to the backstage, I was strange and did not find my words.

Do you know people like Mary who are isolated from their sexuality, even they grow up?

100%. I know many women who come to it only in the 40s, and when they establish life with a man and children, how difficult it is, and then they realize this basic thing about themselves. I understand their struggle. It was a reliable character – someone who was not in touch with all different reasons, who they were, and then came to find the beauty that waits for the rest of her life.

It is like the upcoming comedy version of the later life of Miranda.

Yes! Humor should be – it protects us from very emotionally disturbing time in life. Comedy saves all of us in the end. You laugh when you are very excited about seeing “wicked” for the 14th time. It was not difficult for me to play. Because all my big emotional moments can be found in the music of my lifetime.

After growing up with your talk show, on which you encouraged the broadway, and now you now sing a few times from “wicked” and just that way “-it was a full-cycle moment.

I recently talked to the three-time Tony Award winning producer of London, who wants to help me get my one-women show that I am doing to visit Edinburgh, and maybe going to West end. And, hopefully when politics is more intelligent, back to Broadway, which will be my dream, to show a one-woman on Broadway. He told me that he grows a gay child in Texas, and he was my only exposure for broadway. When he saw it again and again, he knew what he wanted to have his life. He is now a Tony Award winning producer.

I never feel that when people of their 30s or 40s come to me and say “You have really made a profound impact on my life.” This tells me that there was a big purpose for what I was doing.

“Sex and the City” was a Zeeitgeist show at the same time as your talk show. Does it ever cross your mind that you will be a part of this universe?

No, because “Sex and the City” was such a girl-a female-centric show in such a way that I do not have it. You see these girls who have long hair and know how to whip it in a bunion; I lack that gene. There are girls who know how to dress themselves to look suitable for their body size, and I was never that girl. I dressed boys’ clothes. I rode a motorcycle. I was definitely a small gay girl.

I have a small that is non -non -nebinary – 12 years old – and it was the most interesting thing. He told me, “Mummy, I am a nonbinary. I am not a boy and I am not a girl.” I said, “Okay, fantastic.” They go, “My pronoun they are, and I would like to honor them.” I will do my best, right? Who are they, Harvey Milk Rebirth?

And then he said, “Are you nonbinary?” And I said, “Okay, you know, Honey, I am an OG Lesbian. I am a girl who knew that I was a girl who loved to be a girl, but didn’t feel like a real girl. But I didn’t ever want to be a boy. I never thought about boys. I was always thinking about girls.” And then he said, “When you told them, what did your class say?”

This is one whole new world,

Can you imagine? He has no understanding that when I was 10 years old in 1972 and no one mentioned it. The word was not said – you will Never admit it. You will go to the church and hear terrible things about people like you, and Billy Jean (King) and Martina (Navratriva) had to disclose their homosexuality and show that they were not gay to continue working on a tennis circuit, and when I was 10 years old, I was so painful for me. They did not understand. I am trying to convince them what it was when I was a child, and they are shocked.

I think you have returned as a celebrity in the 1990s-very different time than today in terms of sexual rights-and now you are shaking your loose “wicked” T-shirts with pride. I think the latter is more comfortable.

This was actually a strange time to get out of the closet in the show business that knew me personally – and in my life, everyone knew and my children. Once you have children, you get out! Because you go to school meetings with your partner. I was out for everyone except the public. And I often thought it was surprising that when I came out, people were surprised. “Okay, you like Tom Cruise.” I did not want to naked her in my bed! I wanted him to cut grass to my lawn and give me lemonade. How many times do I say this?

I was happy to see you a pop up on “hacks” recently, as well as playing yourself. Any other comedy you are thinking about joining?

I was about to do, just before I left, an episode of “poker face”. I am hoping that I will be able to do so, although I do not know – with the current political atmosphere, when will it be safe to come back with my child? I am not going to pursue it before it is completely finished, and hopefully their crimes will be accountable.

How do you suit to live in Ireland? Is this a positive change?

Never, since I arrived here for a moment, did I regret my choice. People are very welcome, so are accepted, and they have a different view of celebrity in culture here. They are not priority on other people. People are very favorable and intimate with each other in a real way. Every time I go to the pharmacy, I fall in love, because the pharmacist talks to you. Have you ever talked to a pharmacist in CVS?

Not necessarily

I call my friends every time, going, “I think the pharmacist has a crush on me.” But this is a beautiful way of life. The shortness of this nation fits me very well.
