Trump White House issued an executive order on Thursday evening, calling for a block on all federal funds. Public broadcasting service (PBS) and National public radio (NPR), alleging that the two organizations are engaged with “biased and biased news coverage”.
This order directs the board of the corporation of public broadcasting “NPR and PBS direct funding” for “maximum limit allowed by law”.
The administration notes that under CPB’s governing law, the group “cannot contribute or support any political party.” The White House accused the news media’s government funding “not only the old and unnecessary but also for the presence of freedom of journalism, arguing that the media landscape has become more” abundant “and” diverse “since the establishment of the CPB in 1967.
