Netflix, Ubisoft ‘Splinter Sale: Deathwatch’ Ansey First Look

During the week launched last September, the animated TV series “Splinter Cell: Deathwatch“The first was Netflix Tie up Annie Animation Festival Today.

Co-produced by a Ubisoft TV and film Division Project, Sten and Fost Animation Studios, the series deeply dives the “splinter cell” franchise successful: gritty realism, a secret/detective setting and geopolitical war.

Never seen before the upcoming series, UBISOFT, Andten and Fost Teams packed their projects for a prisoner Anasi audience in a comfortable setting so far packed with Sail Pierre Lammy.

What is “Splinter Sale”? Inspired by the functions of the American novelist Tom Clansy, the “Tom Clansy Splinter Sale” was launched in the 2002 series of the first video game of the franchise produced by Ubisoft with recurrence. The French Studios, which already started another franchise based on the “Rainbow Six” of the Clansy, infected the video game community with rigid, infiltrated-based gameplays with inflammatory political war and a high cinematic approach. Six sports published from 2002 to 2013 and more than 30 million units were sold worldwide, “Splinter Sale” has become one of the major brands of Ubisoft, which are spread in video games, tie-in novels and now in an upcoming animated TV series.

An animated thriller for adults, Hugo Revon, the director of the development and producer in Ubisoft Film and Television, was the target for this series. The project began in 2020 with the aim of appealing to video games or animation fans, which targets mainstream audience and technical-thriller enthusiasts. During this WIP session, Revon said, “Splinter cell universe lies deeply in realism.” “Still the animation allows our team to go ahead, produces intensive atmosphere and travels all over Europe in this entertaining and modern sequel for sports. Sam Fisher will be today and in the near future? This is the idea that has carried us forward, writing this series.”

With an older version of the prestigious hero Sam Fisher of the Splinter Sale, the voice was given by Liev Schreiber, the directors are important in bringing this universe on the screen under the leadership of Guilllyume Dousse (“Flee”) and Félicien Colmet-Daâge (“Scen Conference of Gods).

“Think meets Michael Maan Satoshi cones,” Dass explained, “with our co-producer and writer Derek Colstad (‘John Vik’) inspired with action. I played a lot of infiltration games in my youth, and ‘Splinter Sale’ has a deep connection with cinema. Slow, slow, stressful infiltration bits.”

He said, “Being able to bring it forward with the great animation teams, ‘Tokyo Vice’/’Enemy’ pair Danny Bensey and an incredible artist led by the original music by Danny Bengi and Saundar Jurians are somewhat amazing.”

Although it was set in the near future, the authenticity for Ubisoft’s teams was important for Ubisoft’s teams, as detailed by Ubisoft Film and Television Development Associate producer Carl Tamaklo. “Since 2002, the world has developed, and this is something we wanted to integrate from the beginning. Technology has turned the old strategies into a hybrid war with fake news, energy challenges and corporate partnerships.”

“This is a whole new world that Sam has to navigate in our project. We wanted to convert this US-centric saga into a European-centric thriller, which is why we chose the format of the road trip to tell the story of this 8-episode. It is a good way to give our audiences in the known settings with a new adventure,” he said.

To express this high level of realism, the team turned to the French Fost Studio, whose work on the acclaimed manga adaptation “The Summit of the Gods” made him one of the major studios to handle realistic animation in Europe.

Co-director Felician Kolmet-Diaz, who was an animation director for Embart, expanded the ambition to keep reality closer to the production process as much as possible: “Our main challenge was to maintain the same quality that we had received on ‘The Summit of the Gods’, but this series together.”

“Emphasizing major stages such as poding, 3D integration and background helped us to achieve quality quality, while relying too much on photos. Each shot of the show has been reproduced by us as a picture so that we can convert them into the most reliable animation,” he said. “Bringing all the heads of our department into these photo shoots allowed us to influence the spirit, imitation and creativity of the team that stimulated us and our teams.”

Animation Supervisor Gelle Thei, also brought his experience with acclaimed characteristics like “Mars Express” and “The Summit of the Gods”. “Regarding animation, it was important for us to avoid wastage and distorted movements like anime,” Theory expanded the show diving into the animation process of the show. “Rotoscopy was also something that we quickly remove, as it leads to the weight -losing characters in its actions and brings a different experience for overall animation.”

“We involved many ‘useless movements’, as well as to focus on action lines, detailed character animation and manifestations directly. The kind of goods you do not see in the economy -managed ecosystem of usually animated chain production.

“Animating reality is something you have to be fully conscious,” Therie said. “This type of animation is quite recently in the French industry, and before ‘The Summit of the Gods’, I had very little experience in that field. It is a dense process of unlipse that you have always done with cartoonish animated style and how to inspect and attract life again. I am very happy to be a part of this vision, and I am very happy to be a part of our teams, and I am very happy to be a part of our teams, I am very happy.”

“Quickly, we knew that the project would be the best shine in the series format,” Hugo Revon concluded. “The slow pace and atmosphere of this technology is an ideal match with beats that can apply in the structure of the show. I am happy to actually work with Netflix to bring back the universe back to screen.

“Splinter Sale: Deathwatch” is scheduled to release on Netflix especially on this decline.
