Spain Ana RuzasCum-making and starring Atresmedia is known for the successful series “Cardo”, while Los Javis and Movestar Plus+ “La Mesis” praised for his major performance, the topline boxing TV drama is associated with “Roja”.
Set the studio TF1 in Kubik films in Madrid, “Roja” is one of the final projects competing in the pitch cum-series organized by this year. Conta fiction & Entertainment.
The series is built by Maria Cantuel and Executive produced by Fernando Sanches-Kebegoodo in Kubik Films, which in 2011 produced by his brothers George and Alberto Sannches-Cabejudo, the production company, “The Night of Sunflower” and TV Dramatium such as “another life” (Dijni+).
“Roja” tells the story of Wibf World Light Flyweight title winner in 2003, Maria Jessuz Rosa, the leading women’s boxing in Spain, and also four -time European flyweight champions, who became the first European and World Boxing Champion in the country.
Despite his achievements, Roja was forgotten and recognized. When pregnant, he hung his gloves.
In 2018, he died of cancer at the age of 44 and was posthumously inducted into the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame.
“Although this plot occurs in the world of boxing, the series is a story of the characters that takes us on a journey through a love story and address social issues such as overcoming adversity and success in an era-1990s and 2000s-when Spain Women was not ready to accept success, said” said Fernando Scheme-Kabjudo.
He said, “It aims to highlight the support of people who believed in him, four male figures that were with him. And to serve as a mirror for new generations, to serve the concept of success and not only pay tribute to Mari, but for all those women who pave the way in various fields,” he said.
The project received the Lab Opera Prima Award from Barcelona Film School ESCAC in 2024, earning the EscAC Award for Best Pitch at Citz Film Festival.
Kubik films will introduce “Rosa” in the upcoming Consta Fiction Edition, seeking international support. Since a small part of the series occurs in the US and Germany, the company is looking for colleagues in those areas.
The executive manufacturer of the series argued, “Although Rosa felt that she never had the recognition she was worthy, finally she was included in the Las Vegas Hall of Fame after her death. That part of her story holds a very special value.”
Rosa fought in September 2005 for the World Flyweight title against Regina Halmich of Germany at Carlsuhe Arena, Germany in Germany. His most important quarrels and the last of his career, two million TV in Germany were seen by the audience and not aired in Spain.
The ninth version of Europe-Latin America TV and Networking Forum Conta Fiction and Entertainment, a one-hour train ride to the east of Madrid, runs on 16–19 June in the city of Castilla-La Manch.
