Chile Quir Drama ‘Pink Desert’ to pitch in Malaga’s Maf

In 1970, a desert mining in Northern Chile set up in the city, “Pink Desert” follows the story of Mariaola, known as Mario in the 17 -year -old city. Sporadic rain brings the bursting of life to the most dry place on Earth, and in the midst of this landscape, Mariaola is invited to visit Lima, Peru by a theater company in Trestis. During the journey, Mariola begins to find out who she always wants to be. On returning to Chile, a new era of political and social change inspires them to confirm their identity.

In industry news, Peru’s Mastizo Studios have boarded the project, produced by Flemingo Production from Chile. To date, “Pink Desert” has received significant attention and support, which has been supported by Chile Audivizual Fund for writing, rewriting and production. It also selected the Slone Screenplay Award and Final Draft Ventana Sur Award at Columbia University.

In addition to direction, Majluf-Beja Co-writing with Chile’s filmmaker Ignacio jurik Merillon is known for its ear quir-pam-winner short “Lost Queens” (2015) and San Sebastian horizon player “Aigma” (2018).
