A documentary series of Africa’s Olympic aspirations, “The Road to La 28: The African Olympian,” was officially announced last week in the International Salon for Audioviseal Content (Sika) In Ivory Coast,
The project will follow athletes from seven African countries as they prepare to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. However, in early development, the series is still prescribed for the twelve 24 -minute episode. Amy winner South African Manufacturer Dan jawitz And the former head of South African Sports Broadcaster Supersport, Gary Rathbone, who is at the top of the ambitious project, is demanding additional broadcasting and institutional partners to support multi-year production.
The series is expected in a diverse range of emotional and physical visits and sports of the Olympic medal winners-Africa’s well-established Olympic subjects, long distance walking, boxing, swimming and football, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball and rugby.
The additional two -hour special has been planned for the release of athletes’ Olympic experiences and their return to their home.
For now, the series will include the athletes of Ivory Coast, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, but Jeweetz says that some more podiums can be made.
Rathbon said, “We chose Sika in Abidadan to launch the show because Ivory Coast has a great sports tradition and has already proved itself as an Olympic medal winner, and thus the story we tell will be an integral part of the story we tell.”
Welcoming the announcement of the project, SCA’s networking manager Carl Boluwa said, “We are very honored that the manufacturers have chosen SCA to start the series, and have used our platform to reach broadcasters and other organizations.
Thanks to the productive meetings at SCA, the team is now discussing with several major broadcasters, including Canal+ International, SABC, RTI (Kota D IVOIR), RTS (Senegal), KBC (Kenya), ZBC (Zimbabwe), and Max TV (Ghana). They are interacting with the broadcast of the African Union to distribute the chain in their network of over 40 member countries.
