Lee Jung-J death of Gi-Hun, broke the harsh diet

spoiler ALERT: This article includes “the lead spoiler from”Squid game“The end of the series, now streaming on Netflix.

Lee jung-jaSeg GI-Hun is always heartbroken by the heartbeat, and their final sacrifice allows the door finale to shine through humanity.

Talked with Lee Diversity The day he learned the fate of the player 456, his conversation with the “squid game” manufacturer Hwang Dong-Huk about his hopes for the end of the series and his hopes for GI-Hun’s daughter.

Now what are your thoughts that it is in the world?

Now that all this has been released, I think the end was certainly something that a lot of spectators did not expect to see. I know that there are many people with a wide variety of different ideas about the end, and I am following them all. I know that you like to express many what you thought about ending on social media, so I am trying to investigate them all.

When you first learned how the show was about to end, what were your initial sentiments?

I got the entire script for season 2 and 3 at the same time, and I read everything that I got that day. When I learned about the fate and end of my character. I was also very surprised, because it was not something I expected. I remember that the director was speaking a lot about this end with Hwang, and I asked him, “Are you different in mind? What were different versions?” And he told me that he thought of another end. However, he shared with me that he believed that this was the right way to end the story of the “squad game”. He also shared with me that I should not see GI-Hun’s sacrifice as only a sacrifice, but what if we can see it something that reflects or symbolizes hope for humanity?

Your last words are so powerful, and they are also cutting, which is unique and leaves interpretation for the audience. What does it feel when you see the last words that we hear from your character?

It was part of many conversations between the director and me, and we thought a lot about how the audience was going to answer his choice before making GI-Hun his choice, which he was saying. I remember, even the day when we shot that sequence, I believe a lot was passing through his mind. I think he was also considering a separate version of GI-Hun Finishing he was saying. I was also thinking a lot about various versions of that. But I believe the director Hwang wanted the audience to be sentenced in his own way and in his interpretation. I believe that they designed the scene and sequence so that the end of the sentence is of all the audience, and they are what they will finish with their feelings and their journey.

What was the most challenging scene for you to film in this season?

Of course, it was a very last scene, which was the last moment of Zee-Hun. I was on a very strict diet to go to that point for about 14 months. Especially for the last two months, I was on an extremely rigid diet than before shooting the series. I lost about 10 kg from my regular weight. I really wanted to make sure that not only I expressed the feelings of G-Hun, but I also wanted the audience to know that it had completely dried and reduced. I also remember that we had to shoot that last moment for a very long time. On that filming day, it took you much longer than expected. This was the only scene we were able to shoot, so it was extremely important and was also very challenging.

What are your expectations for GI-Hun’s daughter? Do you think the truth is revealed about what happened? Do you think she makes it her mission to take La Games down?

Thinking about the storyline “Squed Game”, I would like to see Zee-Hun’s daughter destroying the whole system. But on a personal note, I hope that she learns nothing about the truth of all this. I hope she does not know anything about her father. I just want that she lives a very happy and stable life with her stepfather and mother.

The interview was conducted through an interpreter and has been edited and condensed for clarity.
