Italian TV Biz looks to be successful abroad

Italian TV industry is being performed this week Italian Global Series FestivalWhich runs on 21–28 June in Rimini and Rician, Italy. Nineteen Italian titles were screening, including five world premiere and seven new sessions of the successful TV series. There is a revival and a reboot.

Gloria Georgiani, an independent manufacturer and founder of the production company Anel, is previewing a new show “The Other Inspector” manufactured with public broadcaster Rai. It examines cases of death at the major character work with a difference with a difference. It takes Alesio Vasalo as a Works Inspector to get a new job to return to his hometown Lukka.

“Already in Italy, more than 250 deaths have occurred in 2025. This is the same as a public broadcaster,” says Matteo Pilati, a filmmaker and programmer for The Festival.

“This is a rare TV series where the main character who is not a policeman, says Giorgian. “We have worked to find a balance between a very important message and entertainment.”

The six-part chain is in post-production. It is directed by Paola Randy, who wrote it with Salvatore de Mola and Andrea Valgusa.

In terms of the international market, Georgian is optimistic. “The global market may quickly change. Italy has a major cultural identity abroad, but we need to control it. For example ‘leopard’ is a castone of Sicilian culture, but this Netflix production is only based on market rules, not Italian identity.

Pilati says that the Italian TV shows such as “Gomorah,” “Montalbano” and “The Sea Beyond” have shown the capacity of the Italian product for an international access.

“Authenticity is important. It becomes easy for an international audience to find a mirror and relationship with the story, because the truth is universal and therefore everyone reacts very well for it. So ‘The C Biend’ is about a gel for young people and depicts the classic teenager in an exaggerated way, which is not the rules related to adults, which are not sure.”

In addition, there are shows like “Astrane” about a disappearance in a Sikh community in Italy in the program, and “Noi del Rionuta,” a serious drama about a parish priest sent in a thick neighborhood in Naples. There is also a much awaited release of the remake of the 1970s hit TV series.
