The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced its newly elected 2025-2026 Board of Governors, with a mixture of returning incumbents, first-time and familiar names, which are returning after an interval.

Focus features selected to the board for the first time are the chairman Peter Kujavski (Officers Branch), Gigi Williams (Makeup artist and hairstylist branch), Carter Barvell (Music Branch) and Andrew Roberts (Visual Effects Branch).
Three industries professionals are re -connecting the board after an interval: Isis Mussenden (Costume Designers Branch), Christina Kaunellius (Marketing and Public Relations Branch) and Larry Karsevsky (Rightrs Branch).

Production and Technology Branch and Short Films Branch did not choose the cycle. The new governors selected by the board will be announced later this month.
The academy currently has 19 branches. Most are represented by three governors, with exceptions from the Animation Branch (two governors), the short film branch (a governor), and the production and technology branch (a governor). Governor, including board-tuned governors-at-load, can work continuously or until non-interval after two years of intervals. The eligibility resumes two more words with a 12 -year -old lifetime cap.
The Board of Governors is responsible for establishing the strategic vision of the Academy, maintaining its financial stability and ensuring the fulfillment of its mission to support excellence in Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
