Sales agency The playmaker The trailer has been released for the Techno Music Drama “Rave On” written and directed by Nicias Chrisos and Victor Jakovleski. The playmker will screen the film on May 15 at the Cannes film market.
The film is a deep dive in Berlin’s club scene. It follows a musician at a night in a great technical club, which turns into a Rev Odyssey. Filmed in real technical places in real parties, “Rev on” is a “dilapidated cinematic experience according to a statement a guerrilla gives a fictional tale with a documentary approach and an immersive cinematography.”
The film’s techno songs are a mixture of club classics and are specially made for the film by Ed Devanport and John Gujartler (“System Crasher”) and other Berlin-based techno actors.
The film consists of Aaron Vedi (“The Zaviflers”) and Clemens Skik (“Doggman,” “Endor,” “Das Boot”, and includes Chicago-Legand Hyrogliffic Being and Up-e-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end.
“Rev on” is a German production, produced from Andro Steinborn (US Remake of “Funny Games”), which is from Telos Pictures in co-production with Hesiculture Randfanka/Arte. It is supported by BKM, Hessenfilm and Dfff. German distributor Weltkino will release “Rev on” in German theaters on 31 July.
Steinborn said: “Techno music is one of the most important German cultural exports and ‘rave on’ is raw and real, as music is, as an authentic and rare cinematic rollercoster to bring that culture to the big screen.”
Moritz Heminger, head of sales and acquisitions in the playmker, said: “Rave on ‘is a love letter for techno music and Berlin’s nightlife. Our international distributors are for a wild ride.”
