Written by Van Der Westhusen and Oscar-Vigner Slick Films (“The Silent Child”) and “Sex Education”, produced by actor George Somnar’s 13: 8 films, “Peter” Elliott (Brathwaite), is a young Trans man who reaped with alcohol-inspired Demensia.
“When Peter offers his old fabric to Elliut – a small gesture – it takes a deep meaning,” reads the official synopsis of the short. “Is Peter’s transient acceptance a by -product of his memory loss, or is his vulnerability allowed him to be really allowed to see Elliott, as both his son and he as man?”
“For me, the film is about dignity and identity – maintaining both when the world or your circumstances threatened to remove them,” Van der Westhusen said in a statement. “In an era where society is deeply fragmented, it is important to showcase connections in widely uneven generations and experiences.”
“Peter” has not a phase with charities and partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association in Production. “The film is more than a story – it is a tool for awareness and advocacy,” it is said in a press release. “Once completed, ‘Peter’ will serve as a part of the funds of funds and awareness for these charity, which will help in increasing and reaching their mission.”
Trained at the drama center London, Van Der Westhusen Paramount+and Netflix’s “The Sandman” has appeared in addition to his role in “Fet: The Wings Saga”. Somnar has played a role in the show including “Sex Education” and “Gangs of London” along with “Hunger Games” the film “The Bailad of Songbirds and Snake”. As a producer in 13: 8 films, his most recent short, “man> code”, the world’s premiere took place at the Chicago International Film Festival and went on screen with more than 20 BAFTA and BFI Flair at the Oscar-Kalifiing Fest.
