Lochalan is not realized until the end of the episode, when he is meditating with his sister Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) in the Buddhist monastery. It is a night of introspection ahead of him, and the selection between Duke and UNC is the least of his problems.
Dharla, 21 -year -old actor who plays Lokhan, spoke Diversity To expand further from the episode 6 shocker what it was to film in that way and unpack the sexuality of his character.
Each season of “The White Lotus” is a shocking sex act. At what point you found out that this would be doing your character at this time?
When I got a part, I remember that I have to talk to Patrick Schwarzenegger, and a scene from his audition scene was the scene with Cloe (Charlot Le Bon), where she likes, “Your brother gave you a blow last night. Don’t you remember?” And he likes, “No, I turned completely black.” So he told me that, and I was so, “Strange … I wonder what it all is.” Then both of us had to sign in our contracts that we were comfortable with naked scenes on camera. Then we got the script about a week later, and I read them all in a plane, to Thailand.
What was your audition scene?
I had two. I had a scene in the swing with Sara Catherine Hook, and I also had one with Patrick – one of the million scenes about the protein shake, I don’t remember which one.

Was this your first sex scene? were you nervous?
Yes, I was completely nervous. I am a very worried person, so I am always nervous, especially on a big job. Having a sex scene was nervous-rating, and we were on a boat, and I got seasic, so it was a stressful fucking. The actual view itself went away easily. Mike White was like cooling about it, and I really trusted Patrick and Charlotte.
How do you build that belief with your co-stars? How does that kind of preparation go?
Patrick I knew very well clearly, because we were shooting for a few weeks at that point, and I was walking with him and Sarah Catherine and Jason (Isaac) and Parker (Posi) every day. But Charlotte was found to Thailand only two days ago, and I think his second shoot day was filming that scene. We did not really know her at all, but I think she knew that Mike would not crawl anything …
To play crawling?
Yes, of course, to play crawling! We all trusted only each other, and that dynamic worked well. In the scene, Patrick and I have brothers, with this girl, which we met like the first day. It was very strange kissing Patrick because he is a very good friend of mine. And, you know, I am straight, he is straight. It is already strange. It would have been easy if it was the first time We We were meeting Funny, it was easy to do things with Charlotte because there was no bets. This is just the person from whom I have now met. But Patrick was already like a brother for me. It felt like a mess.
Well it is good for the scene, I think. It was felt that it was messed up.
Yes! It is good.
Did you use an intimacy coordinator?
Yes, we did it. Everyone loves him – he is a very cute, cute person – but I just trust Mike a lot. This is fun in the way the intimacy coordinator talks. They are always using physically correct vocabulary that sounds stale and strange. I would like, “I don’t know if I can understand the shaft,” and then it would be like a mike, “Just jerk her.” And I would like, “Okay, He I understand. “I think the intimacy coordinator is a great innovation.

In the first season, there are signs in a strange dynamic between brothers. In the first episode, Lokhan sees Saxon and stares a little longer to naked her. In the episode 5, when they are ficklely kissing, the locchalan goes back to more. Is Lokhlan attracted to his brother, or is it something else?
I think it’s something else. I think it comes from a sense of insecurity. He really sees both his brothers and sisters, not from a physical attraction. This is more curious, and is trying to find out what kind of person he is going to be. He tries to join him what he can do. I think Lokhan is pleasant to a people who will try to like people in any way. Looking at Saxon, when he is jerking, he is not a sexual thing – it’s more that he is studying it: “Who is this boy? How can I like him? How can I like him? How can I like him? How can I become like him?” Whatever he learns in the first few episodes is that Saxon is a sex man. Their primary purpose in life is to earn and laying money. So, the matter on the boat is an attempt to mislead Lochalan, like “So, you are a sex man. Let’s do something in that realm and try to join somehow.” It is clearly a large swing and a miss.
Do you think Lokhan is questioning his sexuality, or even his penis? It is interesting that you say that Lokhan was “studying” Saxon, almost as his brother is a foreign unit.
I think the way Mike sees the world is not through a gender lens. If I am wrong then he can correct me, but he writes both men and women, both gay and straight, so accurate and honest. He is always making that people are all the same – cute, yet their origin is rotten in his origin. I think brother-sister talk is more about the methods of their life which is about gender and sexuality. With piper, it is more spiritual and being under the earth. With Saxon, it is about money and women. It can be money and male, and I don’t think it would be a big difference. Lokhan has one such one-track brain. He wants love and attention – it can be from a man, it can be from a girl. I don’t think he knows what he is still attracted. If he finds out that he is attracted to men after this season, it will probably become a problem, because his family is rich, conservative southerners. But at this time, it is not what is happening through his head.
Throughout the episode, Saxon is putting the pieces of the night together. How much does Lokhan remember? He feels that there is some memory in the monastery.
This is interesting, the mike always finds you to shoot a group of different versions, different ways to play subtext. The scene on the boat where I am liked, “I can’t remember last night” – we shot its versions, where I felt that perhaps I remember and I am doing Bulbul, maybe I creep more than described early. And then we shot the other way. Those who used the mic, which I am happy about are where Lochalan does not remember, until the moment in the temple. I like that he made that option, because at the end of the day, Lokhan is not a creeping, it is necessary. Of course, I have to say this. You have to love your character. So, fuck it, I will defend it! I think he is incredibly misguided, and his circumstances placed him in a bad place, but I don’t think he is wicked or malicious in any way. This is important for the story that he is nothing psychopathic.
In the previous episode, he tells Saxon, “One day, I’m taking you down.” What does he mean by that?
It seems that there is more subtract for this, but I think it has been taken only at the inscribed price. He is trying to talk like a brother, like, “Man, I’m going to take you down one day.” He is trying to talk like Saxon, and I don’t think he is going to take him down because, like, will definitely not do it.
With both brothers now know that they were intimate before night, how can it affect the rest of the holiday?
You see in the latter part of the episode 6 that Saxon is completely ignoring Lokhan, wisely, because he feels uncomfortable about what he happened. How could he not feel like this? He also finds it painful to see Lochalan. I think whatever happened to Lokhan, he also regrets, and he also likes, “Cut, whatever I do is trying to get my brother to like my brother. And now I have pushed him away from me.” Lokhan is a orchestrator of his own collapse. The last two episodes are struggling with him.

And which college is he going to.
And which college is he going to! But, at this point, it is very low in the list of preferences for him.
Before the episode broadcast, did you tell your family or friends what happens to Lokhan? Or are they going to be surprised?
I told my parents, but I did not tell my sister. He is bad in keeping mystery. I have not been told to anyone, because I am under a lot of NDA. But I told my girlfriend, because she was there while we were shooting it. that’s about it. I am really afraid to file a case by HBO.
